Nine years ago this Country was attacked. It was the first time, since Pearl Harbor, that our nation was assailed on our own home soil. Four planes, allegedly hijacked by nineteen Islamic extremists, were used as missiles against government and commercial buildings – killing over 3000 people, and creating a ripple effect across the entire globe.
Nine years later, we live in the real-life Orwellian World; where wars are waged endlessly; torturing uncharged persons is legitimized; and waging a campaign of illegal eavesdropping is considered a necessary measure in protecting against “the evildoers.”
But many citizens just aren’t buying it. In fact a third of all Americans, not to mention the much larger percentage of Europeans, believe that the Government and the Bush Administration were, in fact, complicit with September 11th. These revelations are not without their merit. For anybody willing to shed the perception that Governments – including the U.S. – are incapable of inflicting harm to their citizens, and willing to go the extra step in doing some independent research, they would no doubt find evidence persuasively leading to this very same conclusion.
Jeremy Rothe-Kushel is such a person. Like many who witnessed the attacks, he had no inclination that the Government was involved. It was that big moment of post-attack that spurred the American population into a mood of war-time hysteria; believing that Bush was going to lead us into enemy territory and bring justice to those who dare kill our citizens.
But Jeremy wasn’t duped so easily. He tells me that after attending several hip-hop concerts in Western Massachusetts where he received a “Deception Dollar”, and after reading Barry Zwicker’s Towers of Deception, he began to question the official story. I met up with him in a little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop in downtown LA, where thirty or so people were seated in a dark room out in the back, all of them huddling around a big screen projector and engaging in ambiguous conversation about the political issues of the day. He walked in soon after I got there, ordered a tuna melt and a cup of coffee, and jumped right into the fray – lending expert analysis to the given subjects being discussed. I looked on from my stool, drinking black coffee and Smirnoff vodka, and wondering if the powers-that-be were aware over these groups; meeting in secret to undermine their efforts to colonize the World.
For Jeremy, the “smoking gun” is the physical destruction of the towers. “There was a Devastating Force that destroyed over 1000 bodies” he tells me. “They can’t find the smallest particles of them.”
Another factor that he believes proves higher involvement is the cover-up. “There was a massive financial transactions taking place the day before, and the day of the Attacks. They made “put” options on the companies that were going to lose stock” he tells me. Michael Ruppert explains this in his book Crossing the Rubicon. As for the intelligence that was gathered prior; Russian intelligence, Mossad, German, and supposedly the Saudis, were all warning or talking about impending attacks.
Even if one doesn’t want to believe that their government would be involved, the gross number of omissions and contradictions in the official report has left the objective thinker wondering if there was another piece to this whole puzzle. For example, the official Report does not mention why Flight 77 was left unmolested for almost 45 minutes before hitting the Pentagon, and nearly a half hour after Flight 175 struck the South Tower. Do we at least deserve an answer as to why our Military – the one whose budget is bigger than all other nations combined – was suddenly infiltrated by these guys with box cutters?
More so, why did the Report tell us that Hani Hanjour had his pilot license rejected because he was a “terrible pilot” but then on the other hand tell us he was the “operations most experienced pilot – managing to fly a Boeing 757 through a 330-degree spiral dive maneuver?
Or how about the fact that the Report does not even mention – not once – about the collapse on World Trade Center building number 7? For the first time in history, a steel structure was brought down by fire; never mentioned, at all, in the Official Report.
As for me, the clincher is in the prosecution. As it turns out, many of the 911 Commissioners, the ones who were supposed to find out what happened that Day, have publicly come out and admitted the investigation was compromised from the beginning. Max Cleland resigned from the Commission, famously stating that it a “National Scandal.” Thomas H. Kean and Lee H. Hamilton have even coauthored a book about the deception. John Dean, former crony to Nixon during the Watergate days, has written that Bush and Cheney have stonewalled every valid attempt to find out what happened. This is true: During an interview, Bush Jr. said that he refused to meet with the Commission alone, or testify under Oath. A slap in the face to the families who lost loved ones in those buildings.
So picture yourself sitting inside of a courthouse, where a man stands trial for murdering your daughter (or a loved one). He swears he didn’t commit the crime, and is refusing to take any plea deals. You seeing him there, sitting inside the booth, wearing jailhouse clothes; truly see this man as the culprit. Then, all of a sudden, the prosecution stands up and says “you know, your Honor, we just don’t have any evidence against this man.” What would you do? Ignore this bold statement? Figuring “ah, no big deal.” Of course not! The compulsion, ever since your daughter was murdered, was to figure out exactly who did it, without whitewashing over facts or evidence. Why should 9-11 be any different? And why should you believe the official story, when even the Commissioners don’t believe it?
This brings us back around to Taliban, who told American diplomats that they will hand over Osama Bin Laden if the U.S. is able to provide evidence. Uncle Sam refused to do so, even after telling the American people that they had hard evidence.
Through all this, and so much more, we are told to keep quiet and support whatever it is our Government tells us. The roots of a Totalitarian Society are easily seen on the Television screen. As Glenn Beck draws away on his chalkboard, coloring out communist conspiracies, he shudders at the first mention of a 9-11 Government cover-up. Or when ‘O Reilly shut off Jeremy Glick’s microphone during an interview, just for bringing up the U.S.’s support for the radical Muslims in the 80’s and 90’s. It would be hard-pressed to find out if these Neo-Con commentators, the one’s who are usually expressing their contempt for Big Government, are in actuality paid disinformats. Or, maybe, in a greater leap of faith – they really believe in what they’re spewing from their mouths. “Hating your Country” because you question your Government’s actions. The defenders of the American Faith prove nothing by exercising this Right. And they try to ensure that the one’s who are asking the tough questions are labeled as ridiculous and treasonous, all for demanding answers as to why our citizens had to die. The genuine fakes, as I like to refer to them.
As I sat at that table, talking to Jeremy and scribbling out notes, I remembered another aspect in this vast spectrum. History has demonstrated many times before that it is willing and able to carry out attacks against its own population. Plenty of examples are there to pick from, but the one that came to my mind was the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964, whereas Lyndon Johnson announced to the World that the USS Maddox had been attacked by the North Vietnamese Army. It led immediately to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution – an acceleration of the Vietnam War. In 2005, documents released revealed that the entire thing had never happened.
Hitler had similar tactics. Operation Himmler was a Nazi plan to blame the polish for the murders of German citizens. Dressing German civilians up as Polish soldiers, they would then storm towns and vandalize, steal and murder; blaming the whole thing on a country the Nazi’s were eager to invade. It worked. Elementary logic then begs the question: If you were living in Nazi Germany, would it be immoral to raise a complaint?
Authoritarian power structures, like Nazi Germany, the U.S.S.R. and, yes – the United States – have no qualms about killing whoever gets in their way. How could they? The U.S. has supported murderous dictators for years; Suharto was a 40-year favorite in Indonesia; Reagan loved his Central American death squads; and Clinton cozied up with the Haitian militants, FRAPH – leading to a countless thousands who were murdered and mutilated. So why would they start caring now? With regard to 9-11, the Neo-Con think-tank, Project for the New American Century, specifically required a “New Pearl Harbor” to further implement an imperialistic agenda. No conspiracy, folks. As Jesse Ventura says when asked how he became a conspiracy theorist, “my Government has lied to me so many times, they’ve lost all credibility with me.” The Truth hurts.
